The M1 max is showing about 1% GPU utilization, and right around 200% CPU utilization. On the original M1 MBP, it upscaling 1080p video to 4k with Artemis HQ shows about 5% GPU utilization, and somewhat over 400% CPU utilization. The reason is that the program doesn't seem to be using the GPU in any significant way. I would guess it'll be exactly the same on the M1 Pro as compared to the M1 Max. Also no difference between 2.3 and 2.6 on the new one. It's about 20% faster on the M1 max vs the regular. The verdict: it's not any faster on the old M1 than the version I was running (2.3). My 16" MBP with 32gb and M1 Max also just arrived yesterday. Sorry it took so long to reply, I finally got around to buying a new license so I could update. Almost fast enough to literally watch the video while processing it. I'm halfway pissed that this happens AFTER I spent the money, but if this holds, I'll be processing 1080p -> 4k at less than 4 hours processing time per hour of video. I recently spent $3500on new 16" MBP with a 32 core GPU and 4x the ram (hasn't arrived yet), and I was just hoping to get this sort of improvement. Wanted to see if others noticed the same thing after updating. Obviously I'm thrilled, but also quite puzzled about what could have caused this. No other apps I've used since the update are similarly affected (in fact, beware of a mail app issue that causes it to freeze upon opening and crash frequently, though this is the only bug I've noticed so far). And yes, CPU/GPU menu bar settings are unchanged. I don't think CPU or GPU usage have significantly changed, though I don't remember exactly what I was getting before. And in fact, I appear to be using about 25% less ram than before. I am consistently getting slightly over 3x the speed I previously did when running Big Sur. I've verified this with several other videos I previously processed, with the same settings I previously used. And sure enough, it finished processing a video that it had previously estimated at slightly over 24 hours, in slightly under 8 hours! I verified that nothing was changed in the topaz app, no updates or anything, still running version 2.3, and nothing other than the OS version changed with my laptop. I was completely floored to find that it was averaging 0.49 - 0.51 seconds per frame. Since I wasn't very far into processing the video, I canceled and updated.Īfter the update, I went back and stayed processing the same video, from the beginning, with the same settings. Supported OS: Windows 10 / Windows 8.I was about an hour into what would normally be a 24hr processing job - a 36min, 30fps video I was upscaling from 1080p to 4k with Artemis HQ (running at an average of 1.52 - 1.54 seconds per frame), when I got the notification that the new version of MacOS was available.Technical Details and System Requirements For a video from HD to 8K, it typically takes 4-5 seconds for each frame. You can load several videos simultaneously into Video Enhance AI.The AI-powered commercial app is specifically designed for video upsampling.True details and motion consistency with a single click. The best quality for upscaling video up to 8K.Overview of Topaz Video Enhance AI Features There are no complicated processes or confusing tools – just a few simple steps, and your footage is ready to go.
